Triggers

Triggers are really clever if used correctly and can help with all kinds of positions especially in a fast moving In Play market were you may miss a price manually. With a trigger you can simply tell Bet-IE what you want to do whether you want to Back or Lay and at what price you would like the trigger to fire into the market.

There are all kinds of positions you can utilise triggers for maybe you have Backed the Draw at the kick off of football match and are looking to Lay the draw at a specified odds to a certain stake. Maybe you have a Dutch in the market and are looking to take insurance on the outsiders in the field in case one springs a surprise!

I tend to capture winning runs In Play in markets that I have not Dutched and I eliminate my selected runners during the race depending on my reading of how they are running. Then if by the last furlong or last fence I still have multiple runners in the race and no trigger I cancel the trigger and move on to another race. Also I only want to capture the clearcut winner so I do not want multiple triggers to occur as I can lose my profit if this happens,

In this example lets look at a couple of different setups just to give you the idea of how to setup.

To Back when the odds are shortening

This is very useful for capturing a winning run, all you need to do is decide the Odds you would like
Bet-IE to trigger the bet at and what stake you would like to use. In this example I am using the Global Settings and am covering the outsiders in case one upsets my Dutch Bet.

Select the Trigger Function

When the Trigger Function is selected we have the following window open

In this case I select the Non Orange highlighted horses and note the settings of the Trigger I have selected to Back the horses at WORSE odds. I tell Bet-IE if any of these horses reach 1.3 then trigger a Back bet for me of £100 then simply click on the RESET button to transfer the data to Bet-IE. Bet-IE will submit the bets instantly they are available but she will request odds of 1.23 so providing the horse is trading at a price between 1.23 and 1.3 I will be matched at the best available price.

Laying and catching a drift out in odds

This is basically the reverse of the Back to win. When we Back we are capturing a winning run and when we Lay we ideally want to catch a beaten horse to Lay but for a realistic price.

In this example I have instructed Bet-IE to monitor 2 horses in the race and if their Lay Odds drift to 10 then trigger a bet into the market for £20 provided the odds fall within 10 to 12 bracket the bet will be submitted.

So I set the Global odds to 10 and instructed Bet-IE to Lay at Worse odds for £20 and then clicked the Reset button to transfer the data to Bet-IE

That is just a couple of uses of the Trigger if you spend a little time thinking about it you can create all kinds of profitable positions with this function.

At any point you are unsure if you have the settings correct better/worse simply click on the CHECK option and you will see the following pop up to clarify your position
