Scanner Function
The Oddschecker site is featured here.
Now that you have got to grips with the main functions of VHF lets look at the Scanner function.
This function allows you to load the races you wish to examine into a scan list.
Once done you can then look at each ‘set’ simply by selecting the race name from the Scan List.
Once your list is complete, click ‘Start Scanning’ and VHF while load each one in turn automatically for you to check.
So to start we start up VHF and let Oddschecker load. Then we select “Scanner” and the Scanner window appears.
You can move the Scanner window to wherever you like on your screen.

Then once Oddschecker has loaded click the Scanner window Load Races tab

If you get the following message box then wait for Betfair to load and try again.
In the picture you can see that Oddschecker list has loaded ok.

Here you can see that the Betfair Win and Place markets have now been loaded into the Scanners Betfair Win and Place List

Once you have loaded both lists you
can select your races. Make sure you are choosing the race types correctly.
Eg Oddschecker
race then Betfair WIN race and then Betfair PLACE race.

When you have selected your 3 correct races to make a ‘set’ add them to the Scan list by clicking ‘Add Chosen Races to Scan List’.
You can do this procedure as many times as you like – you could load all the races that interest you for the day.

If by mistake you choose an incorrect race type – here the ‘(W/o fav) - with out favourite’

Then you will get this message box. Just click ‘no’ and select the correct races.
If you click ‘yes’ by mistake then you can delete the race by double clicking it in the Scan List.
(You can delete any race from the Scan List by double click it.)

Now you are ready to start scanning. Click ‘Start Scanning’. You can ‘Stop Scanning’ at any time.
Change the scan rate by clicking on the OddsChk refresh.
It’s recommended that you don’t refresh faster than 30 seconds to allow Oddschecker time to load.

You will seen under the menu tabs ‘Sound’ and ‘Scanner’ the following options
If you would like an audible alert for when VHF finds a race where the ROI% is acceptable Click Alert Sound to ON
The default sound is "C:\WINDOWS\Media\ding.wav”
You can change this to any .wav file you like my selecting ‘Custom Sound’
Also when you have your speakers switched on you will hear a ‘click’ sound when you select a web page item. This is a standard Windows navigation sound.
Select ‘Click Sound Off’ to turn this on or off.

Below the Open Scanner Window you see the option to ‘Stop Scanner on Alert’.
Use this if you would like the scanner to stop scanning the Scan List when VHF finds a race where the ROI% is acceptable
The values for these options are saved on exit and can be changed at any time.
